Exams and Consultations
One of our knowledgeable staff will meet with you to discuss your pet, their preventative care including diet, exercise and risk assessment and your individual concerns. Then, our veterinarian will do a complete physical examination of your pet. Each pet’s weight will be monitored to ensure that a healthy weight is maintained. Dr. Gary may recommend further testing as needed to diagnose illness or have a healthy baseline in case your pet becomes ill. Many of these tests can be performed in our office and results are immediate. However, we do have a veterinary laboratory where we can send additional tests for more complete diagnosis. These results are typically returned within one to three days. Dr. Gary will also look for any potential problems. Our goal is to catch problems before they become major, making them easier to treat, and more likely for your pet to make a full recovery. Call us today!
Nutritional Counseling
Obesity is a common problem among pets, as it can be easy to over-feed a pet that knows how to beg. But being overweight is a serious problem for animals and can cause real health problems as they get older. Other health concerns that can be affected by diet are food allergies and sensitivities, urinary tract health, diabetes, arthritis and joint disease, and kidney and liver disease. With proper diet and exercise, all pets should be able to meet their dietary needs and be within a health weight range.
Pet’s nutritional needs can change as they enter different stages of their lives. The best way to make sure your pet’s needs are being met is to consult with us about a diet made specifically for his or her overall health and lifestyle.
Surgery
Hometown Animal Hospital offers a variety of surgical options for our patients’ wellness and critical care needs. Dr. Gary has 25 years of experience in surgery and she believes in utilizing the highest level of medical technology to ensure the safety and wellbeing of her patients. This includes the safest inhalation anesthesia, surgical monitoring and temperature regulation for each pet. We also realize that it can be stressful to have your pet undergo surgery. We want to assure you that your pet is in good hands, and that we will do everything to provide the best care possible. We will communicate with you about the things that you need to know before, during and after your pet’s surgery. It is our goal to make the entire process go smoothly, and to eliminate the stress and worry of surgical procedures.
